Important Notes for XML Instance 1.0 Users:

Selected Features of XML Instance-

Current Limitations

XML Schema Definition Language (XSDL) support is based on a subset of the April 7th, 2000 working draft:  XML Instance will validate against more features of this emerging schema specification in future releases.

Datatype support will be expanded:  Validation of all datatypes is not complete.  XML Instance will not validate data against datatypes: interval, UUID, URI,  binhex, binbase64.

'Extends' feature of SOX schemas not supported:  refinement by extension within SOX schemas is not supported in the conforming XML files.

Limitations of the internal java help browser:  Printing performance and HTML formatting may be improved by using web browser for viewing help documents (see Edit>Preferences to set browser path).

We plan on adding support for these issues as well as new features in future releases of XML Instance.
